Get The Look: Ashley Tisdale

Monday, January 4th, 2010

Denim and leather (or faux-leather) combos are fresh and on trend as exemplified by Alexander Wang’s collection. But there’s a fine line between looking trendy and looking too much like a biker.

Ashley Tisdale got it just right when snapped on a casual night out with friends. Since imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, you can recreate her look with the following pieces:

1. Zoa Pocket Tee ($50) – This is a tee you will wear repeatedly with everything from jeans to skirts with blazers.

2. Current/Elliott The Ring Jacket ($321) – When selecting a denim jacket, we think choosing from the best denim designer is key. That’s why Current/Elliott’s jean jacket will remain a loved staple in your closet.

3. Camilla & Marc Freddie Pant ($190) – These pants are sexy and help dress up a casual ensemble to be nighttime-ready. These will work like Ashley’s with a tee and booties.

4. Dolce Vita Arie Platform ($210) – These bold platform booties are the right balance of biker-chic to emulate Ashley’s look. They also look great with mini dresses and tights.

Get The Look: Jessica Stroup

Monday, December 14th, 2009

Jessica Stroup (90210) was spotted at an event looking youthful, polished and chic. Stroup wore a fun, fitted sequin skirt with a casual v-neck white tee which balanced the skirt’s intensity. To give it a sharpened more finished look, she added a cuffed long boyfriend blazer which also gave the ensemble perfect proportion.

To recreate her look, we recommend the following selections:

1. Zoa White Tee (310-360-1660) – This tee is classic and soft and the perfect choice for this outfit. Also available in other colors, like this great shade, Coco.

2. Drew Boyfriend Blazer ($175) – If you don’t already own a boyfriend blazer, we must say, this one is perfection.

3. K.Allyn Sequin Skirt (310-360-1660) – This silver, sparkly sequin skirt is price-right at $115 and completely darling. It’s the perfect way to pull off Stroup’s look!

Get The Look: Lauren Conrad

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

One of the greatest statement-maker pieces that you’re sure to get plenty of mileage out of is the sequin blazer. Lauren Conrad shows off its ability to spice up an outfit by pairing hers with a neutral silk minidress and heels. Hers is also an ideal uniform for holiday parties—just add opaque tights to keep warm and combat the short hemline.

1. Lia Kes Drape Front Dress ($180) – This dress is the perfect silk mini, and the rich purple is a pretty hue.
2. Sachin + Babi Sienna Jacket ($685) –  The star-sequin piece is this ultra-luxe Sachin + Babi jacket. Put it on over anything and you’ll look instantly glamourous.
3. Schutz Zipper Bootie ($150) –  This is the perfect shoe to pair with the silk mini. The zipper hardware coordinates with the jacket color.

Get The Look: Blake Lively

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

One of the best reasons to watch Gossip Girl, is to see what its star Blake Lively is wearing. When we saw her wearing these electric blue pants we were reminded of Sally Tseng’s Bueller Trouser ($208). We love how the blue pops her look. Now these bold pants clearly are the focal piece, so follow Blake’s example and use neutrals to tie the outfit together. Choose a grey jacket, brown bag, and black and gray scarf to pull the elements together for a cool, cozy look that will turn heads.

Mimic Blake’s look:

1. Superdry New Shirt Jacket ($150)
2. Sally Tseng Bueller Trouser ($208)
3. Tarah Smith The Show Off Bag ($455)
4. Jet Sunburst Scarf ($25)

Get The Look: Nicky Hilton

Monday, November 16th, 2009

Nicky Hilton was recently spotted doing some shopping on Robertson Blvd in Los Angeles looking like the definition of casual-cuteness. Nicky’s hero piece was her admiral-style jacket which instantly spruced up her tee-and-jeans combo. Read on for the pieces we chose to recreate her look:

1. Dolce Vita The Band Jacket (310.360.1660) – With gold stitching and epaulette detail, this jacket is on-trend and makes anything instantly-cute.

2. J Brand Jeans in Ink –  These classic jeans that Nicky wore above, are perfect for wearing with boots.

3. Zoa Boyfriend Pocket Tee in Coco – This pocket tee is the perfect neutral underpinning for layering.

4. Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent Dara Boot – These tall black boots are sexy, and super-versatile.

Get The Look: Kate Walsh

Monday, November 9th, 2009

Besides being one of the hottest M.D.’s on TV, we also love Kate Walsh for her easy-does-it approach to personal style. The Private Practice star was seen in Los Angeles wearing torn-up black denim, with a black tank and cropped leather jacket.

To recreate her look, we took the same steps (with little fuss):

1. Current/Elliott The Skinny Shredded in Night Wash ($240)
2.  K.Allyn Extra Long Pocket Tank ($65)
3. Crispin & Basilio Cropped Aviator ($366)
4. Rebecca Minkoff Chain Clutch ($330)

Get The Look: Taylor Momsen

Friday, October 30th, 2009

Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen is the poster-child for glam rocker-chic style. Perhaps it’s natural for her seeing as she’s the singer in her rock band, Pretty Reckless. Momsen seems to adopt her ‘reckless’ attire from stage in her everyday street attire—a choice that seems uncalculated, which of course makes her look even cooler. Momsen pairs tough, tattered items with one or two girlie touches to keep from looking too haphazard, like the outfit above seen recently on the set of GG.

To recreate her look, we first selected the actual jeans she was wearing:

1. Current/Elliott Shredded Skinny in Night Wash ($240) – Ripped denim looks effortlessly cool and sharp in black—these Current/Elliott pair are one of the actress’ favorites.
2.  Madison Marcus Adorn Jacket ($438) – Momsen adds a little girlie-glitz by layering a sequined jacket underneath a shorter, more casually-finished jacket. This Madison Marcus jacket will pop underneath a black jacket.
3. Current/Elliott Majorette Jacket in Night Wash ($284) – Choose a casual jacket like this cropped jacket to layer over your sequin piece to tone down its dressy nature. The cotton material will soften the look while keeping it edgy.
4. K.Allyn Pocket Tank in Grey ($52) – Last for your bottom layer, choose a neutral-hued tank like Momsen to serve as a canvas for the jacket combo.

Get The Look: Kristen Bell

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

Kristen Bell made a recent appearance at an event dressed bundled up in a colorful scarf and sharp blazer. With the newly brisk fall evenings come the time to start layering your outfits.

To get Kristen’s look, start with a silk minidress like the Area No 3 Dress by Aaron Ashe ($256). This piece is great worn alone, but to give it more structure like Kristen, add a black tuxedo blazer like ours from Mason. Add semi-sheer tights, a colorful scarf like the one we chose from Jet, and black booties like these from Schutz and you’ll look as fabulous as Kristen Bell.

Shop these items:

1. Aaron Ashe Area No. 3 Dress ($256)
2.  Mason Tuxedo Blazer ($400)
3. Jet Sun Burst Scarf ($25)
4.  Schutz Zipper Bootie ($150)
